Ice Storm "1998"

We awoke to this after three days of freezing rain !

We had some supplies, but we were not expecting this !

This is when our survival instincts kicked in !

We had no power,no water (well Pump),only heat from a woodstove,

candle light,and the only access to water was our pond that was

frozen over 6 inches thick.

What did we do you might ask yourself ?

We stayed here when everyone else fled !

We camped out in the living room in front of the woodstove,

which gave off alot of light through it's glass door.

We heated alot of canned food on it and even made

Hot Chocolate & Popped pop corn !

We cut a whole in the ice in the pond with a Chainsaw,

to gain access to the water to flush the toilet and to bathe !

We were stuck, no way in or out !

This went on for 5 days !

By the 6th day we had began to try to cut our way out !

Somewhere off in the distance we could hear peolpe cutting

thier way in, which instilled the fact that we had indeed

SURVIVED !!
